 Where’s My Happy Ending?

  8 years ago:

The wind was tranquil and the air damp when I stepped out of my car in front of the majestic old mansion that has been in my familys possession for over two thousands years. It was still as dazzling and breathtaking as I remembered it. It stands in the outskirts of town, near the woods, and the nearest neighboor live about three miles away. Just the way I like it.

It’s always been peaceful and quite out here. Well… at least it used to be. I heard people fighting close by. When I went to see what was going on, I almost got punched in the face. But I was able to dodge the strangers fist. I did not know who these two strangers were. All I did know was that they were vampires like me. I didn’t know or care why they were there. This is MY town, MY territory and they were intruders. Normally, I would have just killed them right away. But they seemed different and I decided to let them stay in the sleepy little town Great Falls. But only if they didn’t do anything that could expose ou kind. Humans doesn’t responde well to the fact that vampires excist.

One of the strangers had black hair and ice-blue eyes. His smile was sexy and seductive. His name is Liam Salvatore. He’s what humans call a ”badboy” and he did everything he could to appear as careless and dangerous. But I could see right through him. The other stranger, Michael Smith, had dark brown hair and brown eyes so dark they looked like they were black. They were both very muscular and sexy. Since they didn’t have anywhere to stay, I offered them to live with me in my mansion. At first they refused, but when I said I lived alone they accepted my offer. They seemed to really despice each other. And from the few little things they told me about themselves, they were still as interesting as I’d thought from the beginning. I made it my mission to find out who they were and to try to make them forgive each other. They used to be best friends, like brothers, until something really bad happened. They wouldn’t tell me what. I guess I should’ve been glad that they agreed on something but it just made me even more curious to know their story.

I’m Rose Hamilton and this is the beggining of a messed up love story.

 Present time:

It’s now five years since Michael and I broke up. We started dating three months and sixteen days after we met the first time. Now, I’m with Liam. Miachael and I are still friends but it’s a strained relationship. I feel like I just made things worse between the both of them. Things are really messed up right now. Liam and Michael hate each other and it kills me to know I’m the cause of it. I keep thinking that if I hadn’t let them live with me, this never would’ve happened. But it did and there’s nothing I can do about it.

A few days ago when I got home from London, Liam and Michael were fighting again. About me. Michael thinks that Liam ”stole” me from him. I find that very patronizing. A woman is not a thing. You can’t own a person. I have a bad history with men that includes them treating me like some kind of property. That did actually hurt me a little. So punched him in the face and threw him against the wall and left them. When I got home again later that day, they were both waiting for me in the living room. They were looking angrily at each other and I told them that eather they had to stop fighting and make peace, or they would both loose me. I just couldn’t take it anymore. I couldn’t hande any more fights caused by me. It hurt to much to know I’m the one who caused them pain.

I still didn’t know what the reason was for them hating each other, but I did know that I wouldn’t be one of their reasons to keep hating. Liam told me I was overreacting and tried to make me change my mind. But once I set my mind on something, you can’t change my mind. No matter how hard you try. I left them once again so that they could discuss what to do. I went to see my friend Rebekah. She was as beautiful as ever. She has long, blonde straight har and eyes blue as the sea. I didn’t know any boy that didn’t want her. She’s my best friend and has been for many years now. She saved my life from hunters. Now you wonder; who are they? Well, there are a few humans that know of our existance. Half of them doesn’t really care or they think it’s awesome. The other half hates us and hunts us. The hunters. They train their entire life to kill each and everyone of us. When I was newly turned a couple of hunters tracked me down. When I was surrounded by them, Rebekah saved me and took me under her wings. She taught me how to protect myself and how to stay hidden. She taught me everything I know about being a vampire.

We just had dinner and talked about everything that’s been going on in our lives since the last time we met. It’s been a while and it was great to meet her again. I didn’t realize how much I’d missed her until then. It was so good to be able to talk to another vampire about Liam and Michael. I can’t really tell a human about it. God, I hate not being able to talk about my problems. It makes me depressed.

I stayed over at Rebekahs over the night. I didn’t want to go home just yet. In the morning she had to pull me out of bed and she practially had to throw me out of her appartment because she had to go to work. I walked around in the woods for three hours trying get myself to go home. It finally worked and I walked home. I braced myself as good as I could and I still wasn’t prepared for what I was about to see.

The living room was a mess. Shelves was knocked over and tables and chairs were broken. Liam and Michael was fighting like their life depended on it. At first I just stared at them with my mouth wide open in chock. Then when they tried to explain I just told them to leave. I said I would leave their belongings on the porch and they could pick them up at nightfall. I felt selfish and mean even though I had given them so many chances to forgive each other. This was their last chance and they’d blown it.

One and a half year later I met them in Lawrence. They looked like best friends, brothers. And all I did was say hello and walk away. When I got home to Great Falls the same day, I went to bed and cried myself to sleep. It hurt to have lost them both and seeing them both together like that, it brought back so many memories and opened my wounds once again.
